Nutrition and health

 So it is that time of year again when school starts back up - yay! I am back to school, as are two of my children. One of my first assignments for health class was to post a blog for health and nutritional websites.. so I decided to share it here as well.. cuz why not?!

                                                               Informational Health Websites

      The website I chose to feature is http://www.health.gov/. This website is great at covering all topics of health, plus it has sections covering different ages as well - being a mom, that is a big bonus! I really liked the search engine, which made finding different topics and age related questions to be easily answered. Another great feature that I found to be very useful on this site was the fact that it offered a section dedicated to finding local services. The website is sponsored by USA.gov so it fits into our reading guidelines.

        I chose to add another website for locals because this website has helped me out http://www.fitness2go4women.com/Home - I came across this website about 4 years ago and I love it! It has many different and great aspects; it is local and offers personal training, meal planning and nutritional advice. The thing I really love about the site is the blog feature: http://fitness2go4women.blogspot.com/ Shelly (whom I will admit has become a dear friend of mine since finding this site years ago) she blogs about so many things: from mental health, nutrition and physical health that it really covers everything from a-z. The blog has been featured in the Sun newspaper, they are certified by ACE certified Advance Health and Fitness Specialist, and NFPT.  Also certified Personal Trainer with a B.S in Human Services majoring in Health and Nutritional Counseling.

So this is just me venting about stupid rude people!!! I am SO TIRED of the way people drive anymore, it’s like they are all morons.. I mean seriously I don’t care how fast you drive or how slow just stay out of my way!! People seem to forget that there is an ACTUAL person driving the other cars around... Tell me what’s so hard about getting over BEFORE your f-ing lane ends?! Why cut me off because you're an idiot and didn’t read the signs?! And if you're doing it because you want to get ahead.. Wow that got you real far huh?! And no I won’t let your ass over if you want over put a blinker on and don’t be a dick about it! I will admit I speed I don’t go dangerously fast but if someone comes up along me going like 100 I’m NOT going to get over in front of them to slow them down... why the hell do some people think they are speed patrol?! That is way more dangerous than speeding.. ohh they're going fast I’m going slow, I should get in front of them!!!! So here’s my issue, I hate speed patrollers leave that to the cops!!! I hate it when people can't use a blinker; I mean seriously it’s so easy! And I am tired of people thinking because their lane ends they get the right to cut in front of everyone else!! Learn your manners!! Would you act like this in a store with your shopping cart?! Or to any of your friends?! Remember PEOPLE ARE DRIVING THE CARS.. THE CARS ARE NOT DRIVING THEMSELVES!!! And if you drive this way.. Please don’t drive around me!!

Why do we hate?

Here is a copy of a MySpace Blog I made in 2008 I believe, This was the time of the Bush presidency and when prop 8 was beginning the rounds in California. Just thought it would be a good share to this part of my blog.

First of all I want to start this out by saying I respect other people's beliefs no matter how much I disagree. But us as human beings have grown to know hate way too much we bring it in our home's in many different ways ( TV. music politics etc etc..) then we teach it to our children without even knowing what we are teaching them. I have always been a loud mouth - very outspoken but recently I have kept my mouth shut about a lot of things and ignored my feelings or need to say something but when I saw this commercial it just made me sick! The one saying YES to prop 8! Just recently we started accepting African Americans and stopped enslaving them, since we "cant" hate them we are now picking on homosexuality, what is the difference between racism and sexism? What does it really matter to ANYBODY what color skin someone has to who someone sleeps with? As long as it's not a child or someone getting physically/mentally hurt I really don't care who my neighbor marries or chooses to sleep with. All I ever hear is because it's against the beliefs taught in church or that they're just plain against it, but we are suppose to have a SEPERATION from church and state meaning we do NOT base laws or anything for that matter according to church or religious belief.  Why can't we learn from history and stop segregating people who are different? If you feel that gay marriage is "wrong" and should be illegal stop and ask you why? Who does it really hurt? Even if you don't believe in something it doesn't make it "wrong" and doesn't give you the right to take away someone happiness or rights as an American. The fact is we are just repeating history and at this time more than ever do we need to stick together as Americans and make this country what we based it on - FREEDOM. We are in a time where the economy is shit we are being ran into the ground by a moronic president and we are killing innocent people every day we are losing heroes everyday so let's stop hating each other and let others be happy, stick to your beliefs but don't push it on everyone else if you can be happy so can everybody else.  I'm sure I have pissed off quite a few people and that was not my intention, I have my beliefs they may be the same as yours or completely different but I would never make my beliefs law or make you believe my way.
